Blocky Block

The Blocky Block Kinderhilfswerk (children’s fund) was founded by Block Gruppe Managing Director Dirk E. Block in October 2007. All of the Block House restaurants make a regular contribution to the fund and the proceeds are donated to children’s organisations and facilities in the vicinity of the restaurants.

Mittagskinder Foundation

We are very much a part of our home city of Hamburg with our Jim Block restaurants and we are grateful for the success that we enjoy there. Because of this, we have been supporting the Mittagskinder Foundation for many years now, in order to give disadvantaged kids better opportunities in life.

Elysée Preis

Christa and Eugen Block have been nurturing artists from Hamburg and northern Germany since founding the five-star Grand Elysée hotel. With the art gallery at the Grand Elysée, art enthusiast Christa Block has created a highly regarded forum for representational painting. Meanwhile, the highly remunerated Elysée Painting Award is opened up to art colleges in northern Germany on a regular basis and gives an insight into the future of the region’s art scene.
